Podcast Interview About My Research (in German)
Podcast of the DFG (German Research Foundation) "Exzellent Erklärt"
I was featured as a guest on the podcast Exzellent erklärt, together with Oliver Brock, to discuss the core ideas behind the Science of Intelligence Cluster. In the episode, we explored whether intelligent behavior in humans, animals, and machines can be understood through shared underlying principles. I presented my work on “active interconnections” and the AICON framework (Active Interconnect), which investigates how robust, adaptive behavior can emerge from structured, continuous interactions between perception and action rather than from rigid plans or exhaustive training. We also reflected on the differences between current artificial intelligence systems and biological intelligence, emphasizing the efficiency, adaptability, and transfer capabilities of natural systems. The conversation highlighted how the cluster’s conceptual framework continues to influence ongoing research on the principles of intelligence.
